Crowne Plaza Albany® – The Desmond Hotel is known for holding the largest indoor New Year’s Eve party in Albany, which sells out the entire hotel property with guests attending from all over upstate NY, MA, CT, VT, NH, NJ and even as far away as SC and FL. Our legendary themes have included nights in Wonderland, adventures on islands with 21′ tall pirate shipwrecks, trips to the iconic Coney Island boardwalk, and just this past year – a stunning “Midnight Rendezvous” in a English Bridgerton-style garden. NEW YEAR’S EVE 2024
Join us for this year’s theme…KALEIDOSCOPE. A neon, color-rush adventure that will light up the night.
The music never stops on our three separate dancefloors from this year’s two bands Funk Evolution and Skeeter Creek, plus DJ DeeJay Element. Experience “glowing” entertainment throughout the evening from NYC based LED drummers Industrial Rhythm, and watch performance troupe CirqOvation with vibrant acts to wow and thrill. Take photos all night long and share them instantly courtesy of Smile Lounge Interactive.
This is not your standard event – this New Year’s Eve party transforms our entire property for just one night and takes place in two ballrooms and two large indoor courtyards, allowing guests to walk throughout the entire four hour event to enjoy all of the entertainment, food and bars.

This event includes four hours of:
Open Bar – including mixed drinks, beer, wine, champagne and a surprise signature drink
Dinner, Dessert & Late Night Menu – including passed hors d’oeuvres, food displays and Chef manned stations
OVERNIGHT ROOM PACKAGES
Choose from eight overnight room packages including three luxurious suite options and our popular king balcony package – a top floor king room with private balcony overlooking the event in one of our indoor courtyards. Each overnight room package includes your guest room accommodations and tickets to the event with all entertainment, open bar and event menu included.
ADMISSION ONLY TICKETS
Tickets to the event, without an overnight guest room, do not become available until all of the overnight room packages have sold. In past years overnight rooms have sold out in late November/early December. Watch this event page and the hotel’s social media accounts for the announcement of when admission only tickets become available. We do not keep waiting lists for admission only tickets.
You must be 21 or older to attend this event, all guests must provide valid photo ID at the door for event entrance. All purchases must be made online, payment is charged in full at time of purchase. Once sale is complete no refunds or cancellations will be made. Please see the NYE FAQ page for the full cancellation policy.
VIP LOUNGES – PRIVATE SEATING
Celebrate the ultimate way this New Year’s Eve with the return of our VIP Lounges.
Enjoy your own private reserved area with comfortable seating for eight guests. Each of our three exclusive VIP Lounges are located stage-side by the band or DJ – where you will be right in the middle of the party, but with private seating. Included with each lounge is your own dedicated drink server for the entire evening, so you never have to stand in line at a bar, plated hors’ d oeuvres and mini desserts for your group, and surprise party favors.

PRE-PARTY WITH TAYLOR LAVALLEY
Join us in Mr. D’s Bar before the main event for our New Year’s Eve pre-party with Taylor LaValley. Music starts at 5PM, with no cover. Seating is first-come, first-served in the bar for this event.
