Enjoy a new chapter in the history of dining at Crowne Plaza® Albany – The Desmond Hotel at our new restaurant and bar, Mr. D’s.  Opened in April 2021 after a full property-wide transformation, Mr. D’s encompasses the three restaurant areas formerly known as Simpson’s Grille, The Tavern and Scrimshaw, and has been completely reimagined with a fresh contemporary design.  Featuring a seasonal fireplace,  complimentary WiFi and award-winning menus from Executive Chef Michael St. John, C.E.C.  

Mr. D’s serves a carefully curated modern American menu featuring long time favorites such as our Skillet breakfasts, Drunken Goat Cheese Salad, Pancetta-Wrapped Shrimp and Desmond Bread Pudding along with new entrées including a Bourbon Bacon Pork Chop and Seafood Bouillabaisse.  The full bar offers a wide selection of local New York State craft beers, fantastic wines and specialty cocktails.  Social Hour is 4:30-6:30 PM daily with small plate specials, and $2 off all beers, wines by the glass and cocktails.  Our Weekend Brunch menu is offered both Saturday and Sunday featuring delicious items such as Filet Eggs Benedict and Bananas Foster French Toast.
